Matthew Eyre - More Than a Realtor
Hands-on Experience
After graduation, I began working in the City of Brockville Building Division of the Planning Department. My responsibilities included reviewing plans, issuing permits, and conducting site inspections for Ontario Building Code compliance. This role gave me seven years of invaluable, hands-on experience with building systems, regulations, contractors, tradespeople, and the public.
Early Passion & Education
I was fortunate to discover my passion at an early age and to be surrounded by dedicated people who encouraged my interests. It all started with a grade seven art project drawing house elevations in perspective — I was hooked from the beginning. My creative escape became designing ever more elaborate plans for my future dream home.
My university studies included industrial design, urban planning, architectural design, building science, estimating, scheduling, and project management. This diverse foundation culminated in my Degree in Architectural Science.
Transition to Real Estate
My dream of starting my own custom design and build firm led me to establish Nostalgic Homes, where I worked closely with clients to turn their visions into reality. I have been truly blessed by the trust my clients have placed in me throughout the years.
Most recently, I became a licensed Sales Representative at Sutton Essential Realty Brokerage. After more than 20 years of designing, building, and selling award-winning homes, I often found myself disappointed by the level of commitment and professionalism offered by many realtors. I knew I could do better — providing more comprehensive knowledge, inventive marketing solutions, and more effective results.
